The Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is currently searching for a man, whom they believe can assist in a case of rape that is currently under investigation.
Provincial police spokeswoman, Col Thembeka Mbhele said that on June 25, 2018, a 32-year-old woman met a man, who promised her a job at Field Street in Durban.
At about 5am, they both took a taxi and jumped off at Candela Bridge in the Mayville area. “They walked through the bushes and that is when the victim was grabbed, strangled and raped,” she explained.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
The victim reported the matter at the Cato Manor police station.
