Cato Manor police apprehended two men for a smash and grab incident, which occurred along Vusi Mzimela Road, recently.
The 25-year-old suspects allegedly robbed a female motorist.
They allegedly smashed her car window and fled with a bag full of valuables, including a laptop and cellphones.
Police received a tip-off from a resident, who gave a description of the suspect.
Cpt Sullaphen, Det Const Gabisa and Cnst Mdletshe patrolled the area, and spotted the wanted suspects.
They were found in possession of the stolen items.
They have appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court.
According to Cato Manor SAPS communications officer, Cpt CA Sibiya, the two suspects had just been released from prison after they had been convicted for the same crime.
“We are grateful to the community member, who gave a tip-off to the police and we would like to urge other residents to also work hand in hand with the police in order to combat crime. The suspects will face the full might of the law and justice will take its course. The arrest of the suspects should also serve as a warning to other criminals,” said Cpt Sibiya.
