Bright Future Special School closed off Women’s Month on a good note during a special event held to honour and celebrate ladies in the teaching fraternity on Friday.
The event, held at the Parlock-based school, was well attended by teachers who are part of the KwaZulu-Natal Association for Learners with Intellectual Impairment.
Some of the highlights of the event was discussions on how to handle challenges faced by teachers at special schools and how they can empower themselves and best equip pupils with knowledge.
Head of department at the school, Zama Mpungose said they also highlighted the special role women played in the struggle and towards achieving a democratic country.
“The event was a success as many teachers left equipped with new information, which was shared during the programme. We thank all who were able to attend and also our sponsors for the generous donations which played a role in the event being a success,” said Mpungose.
The teachers were treated to a scrumptious lunch after the event.
