Suspects flee with large amount of alcohol in Riverside

The liquor store that was broken into by unknown men.

Greenwood Park SAPS are investigating a business robbery case after a liquor store was robbed of a large amount of alcohol during the early hours of Thursday morning.

The station’s communications officer, Sgt Vincent Mthembu said according to CCTV footage at the liquor store based in Riverside, five men in a Toyota Corolla cut the gate and tied up the security guard with a rope.

The suspects then hit the glass of the store with a hammer.

“They entered the premises and loaded a large amount of alcohol and then fled the scene of the crime,” said Sgt Mthembu.

No arrests have been made as yet and investigations are continuing.
