Schoolboys killed after being hit by taxi in Newlands

Two schoolboys, aged six and 11, were killed after being hit by a minibus taxi while on their way to school on Dumisani Makhaye Drive, in Newlands West, recently.

KZN Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services spokesman, Robert MacKenzie said when paramedics arrived at the scene, they were directed to the two boys.

“Sadly both children, who had been on their way to school, sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene,” he explained.

Police were also at the scene. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
