The principal, staff and pupils of King George V School in Asherville were ecstatic when the educational institution received a generous donation from Avbob, recently.
School principal, Vani Singh said Avbob donated a photocopying machine, library books and stationery worth R40, 000 to commemorate World TB Day on March 24.
The school caters for pupils receiving multi-drug resistant TB treatment at King Dinizulu Hospital.

“The pupils’ stay at the hospital for treatment is between six to 18 months. During that hospitalisation period, they attend this Department of Education school that offers interim education for their stay. We have a dedicated team of teachers who put their heart and soul into their daily interaction with these pupils,” said Singh.
She also added that most of the pupils are from deep rural areas where poverty is rife and unemployment is high.
“We are extremely grateful to Avbob for this wonderful gesture to the less privileged in our society,” she said.
