Committee stamps out drug and alcohol abuse in schools

A number of schools hosted the Local Drug Action Committee as the organisation embarked on a campaign to address a number of problems facing the community of Phoenix.

The committee is made up of representatives from the Department of Health, Department of Social Development, PLDAC, the Refocus and Upliftment Foundation and Safer Cities.

All stakeholders participated in discussions dealing with the scourge of abuse of alcohol and drugs, health care and crime in the community of Phoenix. Schools were offered assistance to curb these issues.
