Watch: Zuma responds to his recall and Twitter goes wild

Plans are underway for the vote of no confidence tabled for Thursday, 15 February 2018 at Parliament.

The ANC parliamentary caucus has agreed to table the EFF’s motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma which they will amend tomorrow.

Secretary general, Ace Magashule’s statement contradicted his previous one saying there was no set deadline. He addressed media saying that the deadline is today and that they have to get ready to take action if he does not resign.

An hour after this was announced, Zuma gave an exclusive interview with the SABC where he said:

“What have I done wrong….I don’t understand… I don’t think it is fair‚ it is unfair.”

“There are no two centres of power.”

“I helped the comrades remember that when we used that phrase it was during the time we were going to Polokwane…”

“I felt I am being victimised here.”

“I disagree with the ANC decision to ask me to resign.”

“I haven’t defied. I’ve simply disagreed.”

Zuma is expected to make a statement later this evening.

It didn’t take long before people on Twitter responded. Here is what people are saying:
