Saving the planet- one piece of litter at a time

Al-Falaah College pupils are enthusiastic about recycling.

Al-Falaah College’s ongoing recycling initiative has not gone unnoticed. The school received a letter of appreciation from Planet Care Waste Management Springfield to thank them for their efforts in helping to save the planet, one piece of litter at a time.

The school collected 3129ks of paper in the form of white paper, mixed paper and cardboard. This saved 51 trees, 12516 kilowatts of power, 9.4 cubic meters of landfill space, 720 litres of oil and 83000 litres of water.

The school also collected 94kgs of plastic. This has saved 543 kilowatts of energy, 1 cubic metre of landfill space, and 244 litres of oil.
