Former public protector to share her journey

Former public protector, Thuli Madonsela, trend guru, Dion Chang and esteemed businesswoman, Phuti Mahanyele are among the guest speakers who will inspire the province’s businesswomen at this year’s FNB Business Women’s Breakfast in association with East Coast Radio.

The event takes place at Durban ICC on Tuesday, August, 8.  East Coast Radio’s general manager Boni Mchunu said, “Staged in Women’s Month, the breakfast is themed #MoreThan, acknowledging the many roles that woman play in society. You are more than just a wife, more than just a mother or just an entrepreneur. It’s for this reason that we are presenting the FNB Women’s Breakfast with a bank that understands that what you do is more than just business.”

Advocate Thuli Madonsela, currently a Harvard Advanced Leadership Fellow for the year 2017, will draw on her seven year term as South Africa’s public protector in her address at the FNB Business Women’s Breakfast in association with East Coast Radio.

This highly revered woman of integrity is a champion of human rights with extensive recognition to her name. Amongst other honours Advocate Madonsela has been conferred with four honourary doctorates of law, she was also named among Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2014 and as Forbes Africa’s Person of the Year in 2016.

One of South Africa’s most respected trend analysts, Dion Chang will also share his insights. As an innovator and creative thinker, with 20 years experience in the magazine industry, Chang is able to provide insights into the ever-changing relationship between brands, consumers and the communication channels that bind them.

Well-known and respected businesswoman, Phuti Mahanyele will also address the Women’s Breakfast. Currently the executive chairman of Sigma Capital, an investment holding company, Mahanyele is the former CEO of the Shanduka Group.

Prior to that, she was the head of the Project Finance South Africa business unit at the Development Bank of Southern Africa. As an award winning business mind Mahanyele will draw on her vast and varied experience.

FNB’s very own Michelle Geraghty rounds off the list of guest speakers at this year’s FNB Business Women’s Breakfast in association with East Coast Radio. With going on 35 years in the financial services industry; Geraghty is the regional director for FNB Business Banking in Gauteng South West and is also responsible for driving the strategy of Women in Business along with other senior female colleagues.
