Taxi accidents leave scores injured

No fatalities were reported in the crashes.

Multiple people were injured in three separate accidents in and around the Durban vicinity, recently. In the first incident, paramedics responded to an accident scene on Titren Road where a taxi driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed through the wall of a testing ground. Three people sustained moderate injuries.

In the second incident, a taxi and vehicle collided at the corner of Stanger Street and Argyle Road. Fifteen people were injured and transported to various Durban hospitals for further treatment. Paramedics were also called to the scene of another accident whereby a taxi collided with a bakkie.

Eight people were injured and stabilised at the scene by paramedics. The exact cause of all collisions remains unknown at this stage, however, investigations are continuing.
