Pedestrians knocked down in Durban CBD

Paramedics worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the injured pedestrians.

Eight pedestrians, who were waiting for a bus to arrive on Mahatma Gandhi Road, sustained various injuries after a vehicle left the roadway and collided into them on Friday night.

Local emergency service, Rescue Care were called to the scene just after 11:30pm and upon arrival, found total chaos.

Four women sustained critical injuries and Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise them at the scene before transporting them to various Durban hospitals for urgent medical care. The remaining pedestrians suffered minor injuries and were also taken to medical facilities in the area.
