DHS toastmasters proceed to semi-finals

DHS toastmasters: Zakariya Adam, Jeeveshwara Sooriah and Krishna Rajput.l

Durban High School Toastmasters recently completed their eight weeks of training in leadership, communication and public speaking skills. The pupils,  Zakariya Adam, Jeeveshwara Sooriah and Krishna Rajput during the eight weeks learned skills necessary to hold the role of chairman, vice-chairman, sergeant at arms, secretary, timekeeper, impromptu topics master and more.

A formal dinner was held at the school whereby the staff, parents and invited guests were in attendance to witness these young men graduate. The following graduates received first place in the following categories, Zakariya Adam took first place for the Prepared Speech section, Jeeveshwara Sooriah took first place for Impromptu Speech section and Krishna Rajput took first place in the Evaluation section. The boys will now represent DHS in the semi-finals which will take place next term.
