Librarians show support for physically challenged pupils

A youth programme for physically challenged pupils with special needs was held on June 8.  It was hosted at the Open Air School for the physically challenged by the Libraries and Heritage Department of the eThekwini Municipality.

The programme was held in order to avoid discrimination against pupils with special needs. The Libraries Department partners with and provides a platform where special pupils can benefit from specific outreach activities.

The District Seven Libraries have tailor made specific outreach activities for this special group of pupils in celebration of Youth Day on June 16 as pupils continue to grow in a public setting, they become more able to handle their disabilities in preparation for their growth into adulthood.
