‘Greening Cato Manor’ campaign- a success

Residents clean up Cato Manor during the campaign.

In an effort to keep Cato Manor clean, many residents including local celebrities participated in the Greening Cato Manor campaign, which was recently held in the area.

eThekwini Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit spearheaded the campaign which is aimed at ridding the area of any unsightly and unhygienic elements and restoring it to clean, safe and conducive living conditions. The campaign included the removal of waste from the pavements and streets, fixing of damaged infrastructure and planting vegetation.

As part of the long-term strategy, 40 volunteers from the area have been trained to sustain the project and educate other members of the community about the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment that is economically viable for the community.
