DHS athletes shine at championships

Mark Gaines and Asanda Kunene who took silver and gold respectively in the 100m event.

Durban High School is extremely proud of its athletes who competed in the KZN Secondary Schools Athletics Championships which was recently held at Kings Park Athletic Stadium.

The three pupils, Lindani Maphisa, who represented under 16, Asanda Kunene and Mark Gaines, who represented under 18 excelled in their various events.

In the under 16 category, Lindani Maphisa came in second place for the 100m hurdles, winning a silver medal.

In the under 18 category, Asanda Kunene won both of his events, taking gold for the 100m and 200m, while Mark Gaines won gold for both Long Jump and Triple Jump and took silver for the 100m.
