Suspect nabbed for paramedic’s murder

Newlands East police have made a break-through in swiftly arresting a suspect for the murder of Durban paramedic Santosh Mohan. Mohan was found dead in his work vehicle which was parked in Dawnwest in the Newlands West area, last week.

Newlands East SAPS Serious and Violent Crime Unit members arrested the 25-year-old suspect who has been on the run since the murder took place. He was nabbed in the Malvern area.

The station’s communications officer, Lt Zikhali said, “Police believe that suspect was with the deceased before he was murdered. It is also believed that the two were friends.”

Zikhali also commended the hardworking members who secured the arrest by working  around the clock to solve this case. The suspect was charged for murder. He appeared in Ntuzuma Magistrate Court on Monday, March 28.
